We are joining fellow Chamber of Commerce members to Cycle4Sepsis this September. Along with other Chamber teams PLOTT will be cycling on static bikes for an hour in an all-day relay. Now in its 9th year Cycle4Sepsis has become the flagship annual event for The UK Sepsis Trust.
The Sepsis stats are shocking, and frightening. In the UK alone one life is lost to a sepsis related illness every 11 minutes. That’s 48,000 lives per year. Yet, for many patients, it is easily treatable with early diagnosis.
The UK Sepsis Trust exists to fight this life-threatening condition, stop preventable deaths and support those affected by sepsis.
The UK Sepsis Trust is a very worthy cause with a local connection. The UK Sepsis Trust was founded 10 years ago at Good Hope Hospital by intensive care specialist Dr Ron Daniels. To mark the occasion this Cycle4Sepsis event has a “10” theme running throughout. 10 teams, 10 hours, and a £10,000 fundraising target.
