We teamed up with a Social Enterprise called The Ahead Partnership, to give the children at Nansen Primary a day at school to remember.

The collaboration between PLOTT Creative and The Ahead Partnership was designed to help connect businesses and local schools and promote awareness of the opportunities young people can aspire to.

We were delighted to be selected as a suitable partner to link with Nansen Primary to deliver a creative workshop to help pupils develop a suite of logos for their four houses: Fire. Earth, Water and Air.  We wanted to bring the world of work to Nansen Primary and inspire the next generation of creative minds to pursue exciting careers in the future.

It is exciting to see schools taking the initiative in this way, and we’re committed to playing our part in up-skilling the next generation. Even at primary age we think it’s so important to get them to understand the world of business, after all we recruit young people and we need them fit for purpose!

ANNA PLOTNEK

The day was kicked off with a simple logo quiz to get the students thinking about logo design and discussing their favorites and why. They were asked to get together and work in groups to sketch out their ideas all under the guidance of the Chris, Katie and the Ahead Partnership team.

The children were then tasked with creating a shortlist of logos which were then pitched back to the group for final selection.

The designs were taken away and developed by Chris into digital logo’s that the school can use and be proud of.

Overall it was a fulfilling experience for students and mentors, and we received some heart-warming feedback;

They’ve loved it from start to finish, from generating ideas, working together in groups to creating the final logos, they did us proud.

We know that even at an early age, the more that young people get an understanding of and interest in the workplace and different jobs, the better they will be prepared for life outside the school gates.

We know that even at an early age, the more that young people get an understanding of and interest in the workplace and different jobs, the better they will be prepared for life outside the school gates.

The students came up with some really creative logo ideas to represent their houses which can now be turned into reality and used for many years to come.
