The PLOTT Hole!

On Friday we were all sweltering in the heat of a typical three day British summer. Meanwhile the great and the good descended on Sutton Coldfield Town Hall.

We were there to enjoy the Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce Royal Business Fair. Words cannot fully express how good it felt to be back after three years.

And it was bustling. Over two-hundred attendees and thirty businesses represented. PLOTT was there as MD Anna Plotnek was one of the key speakers. Anna’s presentation – titled “Branding with Balls” – was about brand evolution. The process whereby a brand can be adjusted, modernised, or re-aligned for the market. Anna took a packed house through the process and showed some examples – including our own PLOTT brand.

As one of the thirty businesses represented we wanted our stand to, well, stand out. In typical PLOTT fashion we chose to do something different. Fun. A little odd. Just this side of tasteful. Roll up, roll up and have a go at the “PLOTT Hole”.

The PLOTT Hole is a game we devised for the day. Eight little sand bags. One little PLOTT Hole. Fastest to put all eight through the hole wins. We were delighted with the popularity of our game. We had partnered with the lovely folk from Community Games. They offered a prize for the winner – four tickets to the Sutton Games.

That’s right. The Sutton Games are back.

Taking place over the weekend 13th and 14th of August at Wyndley Leisure Centre. Our lucky winner will be attending. Before we introduce the winners and runners up, let me introduce you to Community Games.

The mission is to inspire health and happiness through physical activity. They’re creating opportunities for people to try different sporting activities regardless of age and ability. And creating opportunities for sports clubs to present what they offer.

Community Games organise one or two-day multi-sports events.

The fun and interactive format seeks to give children, young people and adults an opportunity to try their hand at the enormous variety of sports and activities available in their community. In their first eight years thousands of people tried their hand at over 100 different sports and activities.

Each event differs with many different sports represented, from team games like Hockey and Football, to the non-traditional like Skateboarding and Paddle Boarding. Also a range of athletic and Paralympic sports. Judo and Tae Kwon Do. And games like Tug of War and Swingball.

We can’t wait to see you and have a safe, fun and inspiring time. Our Games inspire health and happiness through physical activity.

We note with interest that seven of the top ten players are women. It probably doesn’t mean anything, but it made us happy nonetheless. Let’s hear it for the women!

Our wonderful, grand winner is Claire Broadmore from Voltage. What do you want, a medal? It’s your lucky day, because we had that too. We know you’ll enjoy the Sutton Games.
