The Bracebridge: A Dining Experience with a Difference

Sutton Coldfield based restaurant The Bracebridge, needed a new website to bring their offering in line with a recent change in management. They contacted us to build on the brand and develop a modern, functional website.

The Bracebridge is a popular, family oriented independent restaurant located in the heart of Sutton Park. Nestled in the woods and on the shore of Bracebridge pool, it’s a beautiful spot for some delicious and fresh, local food. It’s a location that dates back to the 15th century and the restaurant itself is built around an historic building. It really is quite a place. The Bracebridge has so many great things to talk about – really they should be shouting from the rooftops. But they had a feeling their website was not doing this for them.

Our old website no longer reflected what we do at The Bracebridge. This was causing a disconnect between expectation and reality for our customers. The new website brilliantly and perfectly reflects our menus and location, and what one can expect when they visit.

Claire Brough had taken leadership of The Bracebridge and knew that the brand and website needed updating. What they had was no longer reflective of what they are. Chamber member (and previous president) Katie Hale manages the restaurant’s social media channels. On recommendation from Katie, Claire chose us for help. We began with evolving The Bracebridge brand itself. The logo was kept, but everything else was overhauled – brand colours, tone-of-voice, website content, photography – PLOTT brought their expertise to bear on all of it.

One of the primary goals was to align the experience of visiting The Bracebridge with the presentation on the website. We decided to go big, so commissioned a full 3D tour. Now virtual exploration, re-written copy and new photography showcase the reality of a visit to The Bracebridge.

The process begins with a discovery process. What does The Bracebridge offer visitors? What makes them unique? The answers showed them to be a friendly and welcoming team. With menus filled with delicious internationally inspired foods, made with fresh local ingredients. Add to this their wonderful bucolic location and we were spoiled with things to showcase.

We engaged fellow Chamber member Kate Hollingsworth for a professional photoshoot. The resulting shots are excellent and inspiring. Kate helped to show off the location, the glamorous art-deco inspired decor, the food and the team. Meanwhile we got to work on the brand tone-of-voice. Ultimately producing all the website copy and really getting to grips understanding and telling the story of The Bracebridge.

These media elements are used to inform and inspire our designers. The result? Clean and modern visuals, professional photography, warm and engaging copy and cutting-edge software combine into a brilliant new website. This is how a website gives a better experience for visitors and increased engagement.

Judge for yourself at The Bracebridge website – now launched and live in time to coincide with the start of the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. Then visit The Bracebridge and enjoy the ambiance, views and delicious food.
