The PLOTT POOL challenge has been running for the whole of March and we’ve had over 50 people taking part including many clients and members of the Sutton Chamber of Commerce keen to support much loved PLOTTer Katie Hale who’s husband was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) last year.

This week we were delighted to host Buddy and his team from Community Games who popped in to take part in our pool challenge.

Buddy is a local legend, it was a true pleasure to welcome him and the full team into the studio. Buddy may not have broken any records but he was a great sport.

Community Games is all about inspiring people to try new activities and encouraging healthy, active lifestyles. That’s why Buddy was so keen to try his hand at Pool. It was his first time and it was quite something to behold. We also let the team have a go. It was lovely seeing everyone get into the charity spirit to help raise funds for Katie.

The Community Games is all about trying something new… and sometimes that involves stepping outside of your comfort zone. This can be fun and exciting, but we also know it can sometimes be daunting and maybe a little bit challenging.

Steph Donovan, The Community Games

Dennis was the recent recipient of the Chamber of Commerce Presidents Award, has dedicated himself to the Community Games which was set up to to inspire health and happiness through physical activity. Dennis – founder of the games – has personal experience of MND.

Having experienced MND in my family, I know how vital it is to support people and carers living with this cruel disease. We loved taking part in the challenge, what a great idea to help raise money!

Dennis Kennedy, The Community Games

The games has grown significantly since it was set up 10 years ago and to celebrate the Commonwealth Games this summer they will have 12 Community Games throughout Birmingham and South Staffordshire.

We’ve had loads of participation from the Sutton Chamber of Commerce, including President Phil Arkinstall, David Hemming from Burley Browne, photographer Kate Hollingsworth – to name a few. With an honourable mention for the Chamber’s very own Chris Brewerton and Dan Harrison.

We will be running a play-off in May so watch this space. If anyone still fancies a go get in touch. Don’t delay though, as you don’t have long.

Why are we doing this?

Katie Hale is the former president and current Chair of the Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce. She’s also a much-loved member of the PLOTT family and a lifelong friend. Her world was turned upside down last December when her husband, Terry, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease.

Fancy a go? Drop us an email balls@plott.co.uk and we’ll arrange a time and date, be quick though as there’s only days left. If you can’t haven’t got time to pop in, or the inclination to play pool, you can donate via the fundraiser page here.
