The Midlands Marketing Awards ceremony has come and gone. PLOTT were shortlisted for Agency Team of the Year. It’s just a small thing, not important, that we totally didn’t mention over and over for weeks. So, did we win? Let’s get that over with. Rip it off like a sticking plaster. Ready?
We didn’t win. Well … that’s anticlimactic.
Now, don’t get me wrong but it’s not only about winning. I don’t want a participation award or anything. But there are plenty of reasons to remain cheerful.
The ceremony
First, the event itself was a terrific night out – as it was last year. The Grand Hotel is a brilliantly plush venue, it’s always worth a trip to this beautifully restored building. We’ll see you next year! We raised many a glass on the night, but let’s also raise a glass – metaphorically – to Emma Jones and Kim Leary from The Midlands Marketing Awards.
Secondly, it’s an excellent opportunity for some networking (the real reason for these events). It’s kinda nice to talk shop with other agencies, we all spend so much time in our own little bubbles. Well, nothing beats a good conversation. And nothing, nothing stops Anna once she’s started.
Do you need a third? OK, we didn’t go away empty handed! (More on this later. I’m trying to build some tension).
The winners and the not-so winners
In the end it’s a room full of many of the very best creative people in the midlands. Most of whom were shortlisted for an award. On the night there were winners and there were runners-up. But there were no losers. Winners all. Just some were slightly more winning on the night.
Speaking of winners, take a look at Anna, Rich, Jo, and Ashley. Representing PLOTT on the night, and dressed like absolute bloody winners!
