And the winner is…

£4,600 raised. 50 challenge attempts. 1 trophy won. It’s safe to say that the PLOTT pool tournament has been a success! Everyone seems to have really enjoyed it – we certainly have.

What was the challenge? To play pool but with a PLOTT twist. We invited members of the Sutton Chamber of Commerce and our lovely clients to try and pot every ball on the pool table in under seven minutes. Sounds easy. It was for some. Not everyone though. That doesn’t matter, so long as you had some fun. We also raised some money along the way.

The whole point of the challenge was to raise money for a much-loved member of the PLOTT family, Katie Hale. Her husband, Terry, was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease which is when cells in the brain and nerves (called motor neurones) gradually stop working. This causes the muscles to weaken, stiffen and waste.

We have loved seeing everyone come in and take part in this challenge for such a great cause. It’s been something the whole PLOTT team have looked forward to and we’ll definitely miss it. We can’t wait to do something similar again in the future.

Anna Plotnek, Managing Director of PLOTT

Both Katie and Terry have had to make big life-changes to adapt to the situation and some of these adaptations are costly. So to help them out, we decided to create the PLOTT pool challenge. A fun event for a really important cause.

Well, we wouldn’t use the word fun for the 2 finalists. Both Rob Whalley, a local personal trainer and David Hemming from Burley Browne became very competitive at the PLOTT pool challenge final. The players had great ability with only one second between their initial scores, so you can imagine tensions were high in the office. But, after 3 apprehensive rounds, we knew who had won.

And the winner is…(drumroll please)…Rob!

We are so pleased for Rob but even happier with the amount of money that has been raised for Katie and Terry. We’re at ninety-two percent of the target so far. £4,600 is so close to the £5,000 target. But we’d love to reach our goal, so please do donate if you can.

We are taking things a day at a time and feel so lucky to have the support of so many friends. The PLOTT pool challenge has been a great event.

Katie Hale, PLOTT member

We want to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has taken part. We are thrilled with the response and we can’t wait to host more fundraising events this year. Plus, a massive congratulations to Rob. We hope you place the PLOTT trophy proudly in your home!
