15 years of branding and websites, with the odd adventure

So, what’s the secret?

From the beginning, they split their responsibilities. Anna leads on sales, marketing and the day-to-day business of running a business. Creative Director Richard focuses on client work and creative execution. It’s a partnership that plays to their strengths, and keeps things harmonious.

Culture is the glue

That’s what holds it all together, and a big reason why our team stays at PLOTT. Anna and Rich both wanted to build the kind of company they’d always wanted to work for. That includes regular team adventures to get out of the office and do something different. We’ve been caving, kayaking, and survived The Crystal Maze. For the 15 year celebration we wanted to do something creative.

Getting creative

So we visited Birmingham street artist, Panda (aka Dave), for a bit of hands-on graffiti. Not the kind that gets you into trouble, this was a full-on creative workshop. Dave took us through its origins in New York street culture, and how graffiti evolved from being seen as vandalism to becoming — if not quite mainstream — a recognised part of Western culture. It retained its street credibility by keeping it real. Just like PLOTT.

We even picked out our own ‘street names’ — shoutout to Splinter, FireCracker and Mook — and created a huge PLOTT15 mural to celebrate. It was fun, a bit messy and creative — very us. Then it was time to get hands-on with the paint. It’s fun. It’s really fun. I can see how it caught on. We created a huge “PLOTT15!” artwork to mark this year’s 15-year milestone.

Here’s to the next 15. More creativity. More adventure. More great people doing great work. And probably another street name or two.
